What a mama for us!  In 2000 we were transplanting the gardens in mid-August and Mama was in full bloom.  We had a seedling blooming from SHOCKER x SEMINOLE WIND at the time and put its pollen on Mama.  Those seedlings bloomed this spring and they were terrific!  The color of Mama is mauve mist, with the sepals cream with light dusting of mauve mist.  The petal edges have a yellow gold color with most of the different forms of edging present.  The substance is very good.  It likes hot weather!  In fact, it will not open fully until it gets hot.  Usually about 10:00 AM here.  Fades a little in the heat but stays open to about 9:00 PM.  Sets seeds easily in sun or shade.  The scape has up to 6-way branching with 40 buds.  Foliage is medium wide and medium green.
